Next step is to create usb live boot disk. Now you want a usb disk (4Gb or higher) and Ubuntu iso Press next and you have created new partition. Then you have to give configurations like what file format you want (NTFS) quick format etc. Right click on Unalloacated volume and press new simple volume. Then Windows will create Unallocated area like below. So put the size you want on “Enter the amount of space to shrink in MB” and press shrink. You can see the left space on the volume after partition was created. You have to put the size of partition we need to create in MBs on “Enter the amount of space to shrink in MB”. Then right click on the partition which has the free space and click Shrink Volume. System and Security -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Management (from left pane) In window 10 typing “Disk Manger” will prompt the Program if not try long path. It’s easy to create new partition safely in latest versions of Windows (of course including windows 7). Though there is Option in Ubuntu to “Install Ubuntu along side with windows” it’s better you install Ubuntu on another partition because if you had to format one OS you will loose data of both Operating systems. If you have this amount of free space in one partition we can create partition for Ubuntu. You need free space least 10 GB to work smoothly. One of those difficulty Linux beginners face is how to install Linux (for this Ubuntu) correctly on another partition. If you are never used Linux system you find may difficulties in handling Linux.
